26 March,
Intellix releases updated range of Expertise Automation Products.
The new product range enables businesses to protect, leverage and disseminate
key expertise and improve business process performance.
Copenhagen, Denmark - March 26, 2004 - Intellix today announced the release
of their updated range of Expertise Automation products - the Intellix
Designer 5.0, the Intellix Expertise Server 3.0 and the Intellix Management
Console 3.0.
The release represents a significant step forward in the field of Expertise
Automation by providing tools that enable non-IT experts to automate their
expertise. The Intellix Designer 5.0 is used to build neural-network based
'Advisors' that encapsulate expertise. Advisors are usually process-specific
and work in a similar fashion to human experts - given a problem they
ask questions or retrieve relevant data and based on the answers received
quickly zero in on the probable solution or solutions. Advisors are deployed
using the Intellix Expertise Server 3.0 and managed using the Intellix
Management Console 3.0.
In addition to protecting key expertise, Expertise Automation solutions
have three positive effects - the Advisors can support business processes
24/7 as if the experts were themselves available, best practices and company
policies are consistently employed, and the experts are freed up from
day-to-day process support to work on more productive and innovative tasks.
Intellix CEO Per Schmidt - 'We believe that many companies today faces
a basic problem - they see many opportunities to improve business process
performance using automation, but it is neither practical nor cost effective
for them to do so. This is especially true for processes that are infrequently
run or when exception situations are common. Companies are dependant on
scarce expert resources and as a result only the most critical processes
can be fully supported. The Intellix product range directly addresses
this opportunity - Intellix provides tools that cost-effectively capture
and distribute expertise so that best practice support can be supplied
24/7 on behalf of the experts. This moves the focus for experts from day-to-day
process support to the handling of exception situations and frees up time
for more productive tasks'.
Reducing the dependency on IT resources
In the past many Knowledge Management initiatives have stalled because
they ended up as large IT infrastructure projects or they increased the
workload of experts rather than decreasing it. The focus of the Intellix
products is to lower demands on experts by enabling an expert within a
field - or a knowledge engineer - to easily describe or 'capture' expertise
and then distribute it without depending on IT department resources. Advisors
can be developed quickly - usually in a matter of days and can immediately
provide relief for experts by handling many of the day-to-day questions.
Release includes major improvements
A number of major improvements and new features are included in today's
release. Intellix Designer 5.0 improvements are designed to make it quicker
and easier to build Intellix Advisors. The release includes major improvements
in the areas of knowledge modeling, workflow visualization and control,
and business integration and testing. Wizards and other aids have been
developed that guide new users through key areas in the construction and
integration of solutions.
