The Intellix Designer 5.0

The Intellix Designer 5.0 is the product in the Intellix Expertise Automation range where expertise is described or 'captured', and packaged into Intellix Advisors. It enables Knowledge Engineers or Experts to describe knowledge related to a specific business process so that it can be used by others to support decision making or to help solve problems. The Intellix Expertise Server is then used to deliver the 'advice' or expertise via interactive sessions with the Advisors.

Experts or Knowledge Engineers use the Intellix Designer to model knowledge and experience without any need for programming. The core building blocks are Expertise 'nodes'; these are built using sets of examples that describe fragments of expertise within a well defined problem area, mirroring a small chunk of a human expert's expertise. Expertise nodes are linked together with other components to form Advisors. Just as an expert asks questions to narrow down the possible solutions for a problem, Advisors pose questions via a web-based dialog or interface directly to external systems. A user is guided to a solution based on the answers they provide and/or data from external sources. Advisors can be either stand-alone or integrated into enterprise systems.

The Designer is a unique product because it is both powerful and flexible yet does not require any programming experience to build and maintain an Advisor.

When a knowledge model has been created anyone using the model can quickly tap into the knowledge of experts. The model is easy to maintain and develop by further input. After it has been created the model can be distributed simply and effectively to any channel using Intellix Expertise Server.
