The Intellix Knowledge Server comes equipped with a broad range of features
that let companies deploy and monitor the execution of knowledge management
solutions built with the Intellix Designer. A few of the features and
their benefits are mentioned below.
Distributing Business Processes
Intellix Knowledge Server is the central point in the administration of
knowledge management solutions built using Intellix Designer. It provides
you with an overview of your currently deployed solutions and an easy
way of monitoring their use. When you need to update a solution you can
easily upload it to your Intellix Knowledge Server and let your employees,
partners and customers take instantaneous advantage of your work.
Intellix Solution Framework
The Intellix Solution Framework (ISF) incorporated in the Intellix Knowledge
Server is a generic framework for building enterprise solutions. The foundation
for ISF was laid recently with the new features built into the Intellix
Designer and the accompanying ISF Add-in. This combination of products
allows for even shorter time from business idea to deployed solution.
The key features of the ISF are highly improved flexibility, improved
scalability, fail over, productions monitoring and standardised ways of
implementing integration with 3rd party systems, data validation, data
conversion etc. Furthermore, the features provided by the Intellix Solution
Framework allow for separation of skills among members of development
teams. This reduces the dependence on developer competencies and enable
customers to maintain and elaborate on their knowledge models. It also
reduces the effort needed to build and deploy a fully fledged decision
automation system. The ISF is implemented as a feature rich XML based
component layer which is easily customised.
The Intellix Knowledge Server supports the ISF Web Testbench that comes
with the Intellix Designer ISF Add-in. This feature allows a user of The
Intellix Designer to test ISF compliant knowledge models directly on the
Knowledge Server.
Standardised 3-tier architecture
The Intellix Knowledge Server is based on industry standards, and will
fit almost any system architecture. Although it is an application server
targeted at Windows server platforms it can use J2EE web tiers such as
IBM Websphere, BEA Weblogic or Apache Tomcat, as well as web tiers based
on Microsoft Internet Information Server.
Integration and Adaptation
Truly effective decision support and business process solutions usually
need to be integrated with existing back-end systems. Active Server Pages
(ASP) and Java Server Pages (JSP) providing access to databases and/or
server objects can easily be integrated with the Intellix Knowledge Server
using XML based interfaces. Third party products that require the power
of knowledge management solutions can also be integrated directly with
Intellix Knowledge Server, for instance through COM interfaces or SOAP
interfaces or Java COM bridging interfaces. The Intellix Knowledge Server
incorporates the Intellix Solution Framework, which includes a set of
standard templates for interacting with business processes and web designers
and programmers can easily adapt these templates to suit the needs of
their companies.
Easy Administration
The Intellix Knowledge Server makes it easy to administer solutions running
on one or more servers through either local or remote interfaces. Various
security aspects are defined through the administration interface.
Performance and Stability
The Intellix Knowledge Server is a high performance program that is capable
of serving thousands of users on a daily basis without compromising stability.
Intellix Knowledge Server provides you with a fully multi-threaded, multi-process
architecture, and makes it the ideal choice for Internet solutions. Various
architectural means are available for implementation of single- or multi-client
affinity to provide reliability, and various session storage methods are
available for fail-over handling and robust capture of user sessions.
Monitoring Business Processes
The Intellix Knowledge Server provides you with statistics that report
how users interact with your automated business processes. This makes
it possible to evaluate how your customers are using the decision support
you offer on the Internet, for instance, and make precise updates of your
knowledge models.
